Tragic developments have unfolded in Michigan as a 2-year-old girl, Wynter Smith, remains missing despite the arrest of her alleged kidnapper, according to Yahoo! News.

The Lansing Police Department reported that Wynter was last seen on the evening of Sunday, July 2, sparking an AMBER Alert.

According to family members, Rashad Trice, the ex-boyfriend of Wynter's mother, is accused of stabbing the mother before abducting the toddler.

The FBI reported that Trice fled the scene with Wynter in the mother's white Chevrolet Impala. The 22-year-old stabbing victim was taken to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Authorities were able to apprehend Trice around 5:50 am on Monday in St. Clair Shores, approximately 90 miles east of Lansing. However, at the time of his arrest, Wynter was not present in the stolen vehicle.

During the arrest, Trice reportedly crashed into a police cruiser in St. Clair Shores, resulting in injuries to a police officer who has since been discharged from the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Michigan girl, Wynter Smith, remains missing as of Tuesday morning.

Authorities Reveal Route Where Kidnapping Suspect Allegedly Took Wynter Smith

Authorities have provided an update on the search for the missing Michigan girl, following the arrest of the suspected kidnapper, per Click on Detroit.

St. Clair Shores police disclosed the route they believe the suspect took between the time the AMBER Alert was issued and his apprehension.

According to police, the car associated with the suspect was spotted around 4:45 am on Monday in the vicinity of 9 Mile Road and Harper Avenue.

Eventually, the arrest of Rashad Trice took place on Little Mack Avenue and 10 Mile Road.

During a live news conference on Tuesday at 4 pm, police and FBI agents provided an update on the search efforts. While several tips have been received, Wynter has not been located thus far.

The FBI has announced a reward of $25,000 for any information that leads to the recovery of Wynter.

Wynter was last seen wearing a white T-shirt adorned with rainbows. She stands approximately 2 feet tall, weighs 25-30 pounds, and has brown eyes and shoulder-length braided hair.

Authorities urge anyone who may have observed the Impala at any time, particularly between 11:15 pm on Sunday and 1 am on Monday, to contact them.

The public's assistance in the ongoing search is crucial. Individuals who can join the search, especially along the route Trice is believed to have taken, are encouraged to do so.

However, safety precautions should be taken, particularly around highways, which may be more congested due to the holiday.

Michigan Girl's Grandmother Never Loses Hopes to Find Her

Despite the distressing situation surrounding the disappearance of the 2-year-old Michigan girl, Wynter Smith, her grandmother, Sharen Eddings, remains steadfast in her hope for a positive outcome.

Describing Wynter as a "wonderful, joyful person" with intelligence, Eddings refuses to lose faith in the possibility of a safe return.

"I've seen kids we've thought we wouldn't find, and they come back safe, so we still have faith," she told FOX 2.

However, as the investigation unfolds, authorities have encountered challenges in combating misinformation surrounding the case.

Lansing police took to social media to clarify that the missing girl has not yet been located.

They emphasized their active efforts, including going door to door and engaging with the community to aid in the search.

Recognizing the case's significance, the FBI has also become involved and actively assists local law enforcement in the investigation.
