President Joe Biden made his first campaign speech in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania for the 2024 US presidential election. He warned Americans about a potential 2024 Donald Trump presidency.

The Friday speech came on the eve of the January 6 Capitol insurrection's 3rd anniversary, where Donald Trump was found liable for insurrection by a Colorado lower court and the Colorado Supreme Court.

The president, who defeated Trump in 2020, reminded people that George Washington could have remained president for the rest of his life after America won her independence, but he held onto his vision for America, adding, "America made a vow – never again would we bow down to a king."

"Whether democracy is still America's sacred cause is what the 2024 election is all about," he added. "The choice is clear. Donald Trump's campaign is about him, not America, not you. Donald Trump's campaign is obsessed with the past, not the future. He's willing to sacrifice our democracy to put himself in power. Our campaign is different."

Biden says that his possible 2024 presidential election rival is "trying to rewrite the facts" of the January 6 Capitol insurrection and he is " trying to steal history the same way he tried to steal the election."

As CBS News noted, the speech shows that Biden is expecting Trump to win the Republican nomination as the president reminded people that "Trump's mob wasn't a peaceful protest; it was a violent assault. They were insurrectionists, not patriots. They weren't there to uphold the Constitution; they were there to destroy the Constitution."

Joe Biden Continues Blasting Donald Trump Over Ex-POTUS's Promises of Revenge and Retribution

In his Pennsylvania speech, Joe Biden also took aim at Trump for his promises of revenge and retribution should he be elected back as president in 2024.

"Trump's not concerned about your future I promise you," Biden warned, adding, "Trump is now promising a full-scale campaign of revenge and retribution, his words, for some years to come," Axios noted that Biden name-dropped Trump multiple times during his campaign speech.

He then blasted Trump for continually denying the election results in 2020, calling him the "election denier in chief." Trump lost multiple cases challenging the results of the 2020 election, with many courts throwing out his election complaints over lack of evidence.

"You can't love your country only when you win," Biden added.

Donald Trump's Still Spreading Misinformation About January 6 as 2024 US Presidential Election Approaches

With the third anniversary of January 6, however, a lot of Trump supporters still believe that many of the rioters were innocent despite videos catching them attacking police officers, looting the Capitol, and various offenses that various courts have found them guilty of.

As CNN pointed out, Donald Trump continues to say that the insurrectionists are all innocent and are being persecuted. These claims are being echoed by right-wing media such as Fox News and many others, with the "Big Lie" that led to January 6 now being the dominant thinking among Republicans.
