House Republicans have been investigating corruption allegations against President Joe Biden and his family. However, they could not find any evidence of this alleged corruption that they have been accusing them of.

During a news conference at Capitol Hill, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee, with Chairman James Comer of Kentucky being flanked by other GOP members, admitted that they could not find any incriminating material against the president or the Biden family despite committee members frequently insinuating that they have been involved in criminal conduct and corruption.

Republicans have accused Biden family members, specifically Hunter Biden, of "influence peddling" and have shown several transactions from the younger Biden as proof of this. However, during the Wednesday news conference, the Republican-led committee admitted that they could not yet find evidence of a specific corrupt action that the president took while in office, nor could they find anything in connection to his son's business dealings.

According to the New York Times, the GOP lawmakers underscored how little progress they made in their investigation as they floundered in tying the president to his son's questionable transactions. However, despite this, they still accused President Biden of misconduct during the news conference.

House Republicans Sidestep Issue of Failure To Show Link Between Pres. Joe Biden and Son's Transactions

During the news conference, Comer was asked if he could ultimately prove that President Joe Biden had something to do with his son's transactions. However, according to Politico, the Kentucky Republican merely sidestepped and answered, "I don't think anyone in America ... would think that it's just a coincidence that nine Biden family members have received money."

"We believe that the president has been involved in this from the very beginning. Obviously, we're going to continue to look," he added and said that the Wednesday "update" is only the "beginning stages" of his investigation, which has been going on for four months already.

The investigation focused on payments to Biden family members, and they linked them to Romania and China. However, the Republicans could not show how Biden's decisions as president have been influenced by these transactions with his family members.

While GOP members have claimed that these payments are questionable, they could not call them potentially illegal.

House Republicans Fail in Their 'Make-Or-Break' Moment With Joe Biden Investigation

Comer and the House Oversight Committee's Biden probe has been described as a make-or-break moment for the Kentucky representative as he crusaded against Joe Biden. However, MSNBC pointed out that he had failed "spectacularly."

It has been pointed out that while the committee has failed to bring in any evidence, the investigation has been used as propaganda material. Despite the lack of evidence, right-wing news outlets would still use this to make the president look like a criminal and spin it in a way that would make the Republicans look good to their constituents.

Despite this recent setback, however, it is clear that Comer will not be changing course soon, according to MSNBC, whether he fails to find evidence in the end or not.
