Greeicy Rendón's father placed under house arrest in kidnapping and torture case

Colombian justice has determined that Luis Alberto Rendón , father of singer Greeicy Rendón , will remain under house arrest while his legal proceedings for alleged kidnapping and aggravated torture proceed in Colombia . The decision was made after a hearing that evaluated the charges filed by the Attorney General's Office.

The newspaper El Tiempo reported details of Rendón's arrest, which occurred on Saturday, October 11, during a police check in the Lourdes neighborhood of Cali. Officers stopped his white Nissan Kicks and, upon reviewing his documents, found an active arrest warrant issued by a court in Rionegro (Antioquia).

During the hearing, the Prosecutor's Office requested that he be held in prison, but the judge opted to impose house arrest, under judicial supervision, based on health, age, and other risk factors.

Rendón did not accept the charges at that time.

The case began two years ago, in May 2023 , when the farm owned by Greeicy and her partner, Mike Bahía, in Llanogrande, eastern Antioquia, was the target of a high-profile robbery. Thieves allegedly stole jewelry, valuables, and cash totaling approximately $414,600.

Following the theft, assaults were reported against two employees of the property. According to the complaints filed with the Prosecutor's Office, they were detained, beaten (with a hammer on the chest and arms), and threatened (including having the barrel of a gun shoved in their mouths) to force them to reveal the whereabouts of the stolen goods.

During 2023, five people had already been arrested and placed under house arrest while the investigation continued. Now, with new evidence, the Prosecutor's Office has named the artist's father as the alleged instigator or active participant in these violent reprisals.

Greeicy Rendón has yet to issue a clear public response regarding her father's legal situation. She maintains content related to her artistic career on social media, but fans are awaiting an official stance on a case of this magnitude.

Already in the past, when the robbery occurred in 2023 and before the charges against her father arose, Greeicy had alluded to the emotional impact with phrases like "an atomic bomb came into our lives," without going into legal details.
