The U.S. season premiere of "Downton Abbey" may be over four months away, but the Season 4 trailer is officially here (warning: this article contains Season 3 spoilers).

The brand new trailer, which was just recently released by ITV, is a montage of most of the major characters, who are dealing with the events of Season 3 and the new storylines in Season 4. Set to the uplifiting track "Wolf's Law," by The Joy Formidable, the trailer begins with Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery) having a dramatic conversation with her grandmother Violet, The Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith).

"You have a straightforward choice," Violet says, who is known for her witty one-liners. "You must choose either death or life." The snippet shows the pair dressed in all black, as they are presumably in mourning over the death of Mary's husband, Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens). In the final moments of the Season 3 finale, Matthew is killed in a tragic car accident while Mary gives birth to their newborn baby.

The rest of the trailer is sans-dialogue, and gives glimpses of a seemingly happy Anna and Mr. Bates, Robert Crawley, Tom Branson, a teary Mr. Carson, kissing and of course, plenty of tea drinking.

The trailer also provides some shots of new additions to the cast, including Gary Carr's Jack Ross, a charming jazz singer. Carr is the first African American cast member to join the popular British period drama, which is set in 1920s England.

Although much of the plot for Season 4 isn't revealed in the trailer, some of the cast members recently sat down with E! News to discuss the future of their characters.

"There are a few potential suitors, there's two main ones," Dockery told E! "The new boys coming into the show, they're brave because I'm cursed. Mary is cursed isn't she? Becaue they all die."

Dockery denied any rumors that her character would have a relationship with Tom Branson (Allen Leech), who also lost his spouse in Season 3.

"All this speculation about Branson and Mary is just so inappropriate, he's my brother in law!" she said.

"Downton Abbey" has been nominated for 12 Emmys this year, including Outstanding Drama Series. Dockery, Smith, Jim Carter (Mr. Carson) and Hugh Bonneville (Lord Grantham) all received acting nominations. Smith won for Outstanding Supporting Actress last year.

Season 4 of "Downton Abbey" premieres Jan. 5, 2014, on PBS. Check out the Season 4 trailer below.
