Rumors have been spiraling around that former 2012 presidential candidate Mitt Romney may run again in 2016. The Republican favorite hinted in a recent interview that he might be considering running in the upcoming presidential elections.

In an interview with the New York Times Magazine, Romney mentioned a presidential run in 2016 is not off the table.

"We've got a lot of people looking at the race," he said. "We'll see what happens." Speaking with Mark Leibovich, Romney compared the constant questions about a presidential run in 2016 to a scene in the film "Dumb and Dumber."

"Romney compared the barrage of 2016-related questions to a scene in the film 'Dumb and Dumber.' After Jim Carrey's character is flatly rejected by Lauren Holly, she tells him that there's a one-in-a-million chance she would change her mind. 'So,' Romney told me, embodying the character, 'Jim Carrey says, "You're telling me there's a chance."'"

Whether there is a chance for he will remains to be seen; however, he may not have much competition from the current Republican hopefuls: New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.

In an interview with HuffPost Live, Ryan said he would not run if Romney decided to run, according to Real Clear Politics.

"I wouldn't if he were," Ryan told HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill. "I would support Mitt. If he were to run, I would not. But I don't even know if I'm going to either myself. That's something I'm going to decide in 2015."

"I think a lot of people, especially on our side of the aisle -- I am one of those, by the way -- think he would be a fantastic candidate," Ryan added. "I would like to see him run again, but I think he's pretty clear that it's definitely not his intention. He's not trying to start this buzz, he's not trying to mount another comeback."
