"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Phaedra Parks has decided to file for divorce from her husband Apollo Nida, E! News reports.

"[Phaedra Parks] has retained an attorney with the intent of amicably ending her marriage," her rep, Steve Honig, recently confirmed to E! News.

Prior to Parks' divorce filing, there had been reports of tension in Parks and Nida's marriage stemming from the legal drama surrounding Nida.

Nida checked himself into prison last month and is currently serving an 8-year jail sentence for bank fraud and identity theft.

The day before Nida was scheduled to go to prison, he and Parks got into a heated argument over her refusal to put money in his prison account, TMZ reported at the time.

Nida allegedly showed up uninvited in Parks' home and demanded money from her.

"What the f*ck is the matter with you," Nida yelled at Phaedra, said the TMZ source. "I don't give a f*ck about the police, call them, I dare you," he added as he forced his way inside her home.

Nida also blasted the self proclaimed southern belle during his radio interview with Atlanta's B-100 radio station back in July.

Nida slammed Parks for "not f*cking show up to my sentencing."

He added, "I'm still salty about that, but whatever."

Nida also made another shocking revelation at the time about he and Parks' marriage. When asked about whether he felt his marriage would last through his jail bid, Nida simply responded, "I doubt it."

So far, Parks has yet to speak out about her divorce from Apollo Nida. Instead, the mother of two has been focused on her "Secrets of a Southern Belle" book tour that she has been constantly tweeting about and promoting.

Parks recently tweeted that the next stop on her book tour would be on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at Gardena, California.
