Is Microsoft headed on a nationwide tour to promote the upcoming Xbox One?

A premature posting on a Microsoft website was caught by a NeoGAF member, who posted the link that said Microsoft was headed on a nationwide tour.

"Xbox One is hitting the road with four decked out Xbox One trucks," the online advertisement apparently said. "We'll put a controller in your hands, a game on the screen and a spring in your step."

The tour is expected to hit 36 cities across the United States and into parts of Canada. Although no dates were posted -- only locations on a map via screenshots -- the tour is expected to take place before the Nov. 22 release of the Xbox One.

As the USA Today mentioned on Friday, both the Xbox One and PS4 game consoles are gearing up for a busy holiday season. The Xbox One has already teamed up with the NFL to provide users with exclusive football content while PS4's Sony has announced a three-year partnership with fast food chain Taco Bell to both promote the game console and also give fans the chance to win a new PS4. Microsoft has joined up with Doritos and Mountain Dew products for the same purpose.

Heading into the holiday season, however, it seems to be that Microsoft is under more pressure than Sony because of a $100 higher price tag for the Xbox One compared to the PS4.

"They still have to prove the value proposition of the extra $100," Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter said.

Both the PS4 and Xbox 360 will be released within a week of each other in November, just before Black Friday.
