Candace Owens leaked Charlie Kirk's conversation
Candace Owens shares leaked call involving Charlie Kirk’s widow

Candace Owens has launched a new online 'investigative' series aimed at Erika Kirk, the widow of murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk, insisting this week that 'something is not right' about Erika's backstory. Owens made the claim during the first episode of Bride of Charlie, a nearly 65-minute livestream released on Wednesday, 25 February, which OK! Magazine said had been viewed close to three million times.

For starters, Charlie Kirk was shot dead on 10 September 2025 during an appearance at Utah Valley University, and Tyler Robinson is accused of murdering him. Owens, who was friends with Kirk, has been pushing conspiracy theories about his death since the assassination.

Owens' first episode leans heavily on suggestion rather than proof. OK! Magazine reported that she said she was 'bothered' and 'troubled' by vague 'wrinkles' in Erika Kirk's story, and that she accused her of lying without identifying a specific lie.

OK! Magazine said Owens referenced high school yearbooks and local newspaper clippings and suggested Erika's mother might not be her real mother. The report also said Owens alleged the hospital where Erika was born had, at one point, experimented on patients' brains. She went further by invoking a photo of a toddler-aged Erika and suggesting she was 'throwing up Freemason hand signs.'

Owens also told viewers she is 'sitting on information' taken from old classmates and ex-boyfriends of Erika, and that more would come out in future episodes. OK! Magazine noted that it remains unclear why Owens is investigating Erika Kirk in the first place, which is a polite way of saying the project's purpose is as foggy as its accusations.

Most, if not all, are aware that Erika Kirk is a mother of two who became CEO of her late husband's political nonprofit, Turning Point USA, after his death.

The backlash has not come only from ideological opponents. Owens faced criticism after releasing a trailer for the series on Monday, 23 February, with some people on social media calling it 'creepy' and 'exploitative.'

Ben Shapiro, Owens' former boss at The Daily Wire, has been particularly unsparing. Shapiro called Owens a 'twisted human being' and a 'true vampire,' and urged Erika to 'sue the living h---' out of her. In a nine-minute video posted to X on Tuesday, 24 February, Shapiro accused Owens of profiting from Kirk's death.

'She is making money off the murder of Charlie Kirk by literally implicating his widow and everyone else at [Turning Point USA] in that m-rder, and then trying to dig up pseudo-dirt on the wife of the person who was murdered,' Shapiro said. 'I don't know what to call that, other than evil trash,' he added.

Owens' own critique of Erika has, at times, centred less on alleged wrongdoing and more on tone. OK! Magazine reported she released a leaked call from a Turning Point USA meeting held just days after Kirk's assassination, in which Erika was heard discussing merchandise sales and donations.

'It is the general tone that is off-putting, it's the laughter that is off-putting,' Owens said, according to the report, before adding, 'We're talking about numbers and metrics.' She added, 'That's moving pretty quickly to the acceptance phase.'

IBTimes UK cannot independently verify that Erika Kirk has done anything illegal or dishonest, and Candace Owens' insinuations should be taken with a grain of salt unless and until she produces verifiable evidence.
