There's no doubt that pop star Britney Spears knows how to work it when it comes to performing, but as a mother of two, it's not always easy to find the right balance between being sexy and being too provocative.

In a recent interview with Boston's TJ AMP, Spears talks about her racy new video, "Work Bitch,"and how she had to tone it down and make some cuts to the final product, even though it's still edgy.

"Oh my god, we showed way more skin and did way more stuff for the video than what is actually there," Spears said. "Like, I cut out half the video because I am a mother and because, you know, I have children, and it's just hard to play sexy mom while you're being a pop star as well. I just have to be true to myself and feel it out when I do stuff."

Spears is scheduled for a 50-show run at Planet Hollywood in Vegas and has a new album set to be released in December. She is also collaborating on a track with Miley Cyrus called SMS (BANGERZ) which will appear on Cyrus' Bangerz album that is due out next week.

The former Disney star has had her share of ups and downs throughout her career, but she has made a comeback and appears to be more subdued in real life, happily raising her two sons, Sean and Jayden.

Spears admits there is always a sexual component in her videos, yet she fondly reminisced of the old days. "A lot of sex goes into what I do," she continued. "But sometimes I would like to bring it back to the old days when there was, like, one outfit through the whole video, and you're dancing the whole video, and there's like not that much sex stuff going on."

Other sexy celeb moms have grappled with the sexy vs. overly provocative role, but it seems that the provactive side is always enticing. On the Latina side, more specifically, pop super-star, actress and dancer, Jennifer Lopez, has tried to find the right balance but it isn't always easy.

She's been heating up the stage since her "In Living Color Days," but Lopez, now 45, is still bringing sexy to her videos and performances and maintains a solid motherhood role.

The "On the Floor" and "Live It Up" singer and ex Marc Anthony have two children, 5-year-old twins, Max and Emma. The couple who wed in 2004 announced their split in July 2011 and Anthony filed for divorce in April 2012, but the split has yet to be finalized.

Regarding motherhood and family, Lopez says:

"I am a non-traditional family," Lopez recently told US Magazine

The singer who has been dating her former backup dancer Casper Smart since October 2011, told ABC News in May 2013. "Me being a single mom, their dad doesn't live at home with them. They have three stepbrothers from two other moms . . . that's not traditional." (Anthony is also dad to daughter Ariana with ex-girlfriend Debbie, and sons Cristian and Ryan with ex-wife Dayanara Torres.)

"It's about love and that's what I constantly remind myself of because I kind of let society get inside my head, 'Oh, it shouldn't be like this. I did this, I did that. I failed.' And it's like, no. They're happy, they're healthy, they're loved more than anything in the world and they're going to be fine," Lopez explained to ABC News. "I want them to know that."

While her family is solid, this past Spring Lopez received some backlash for her "overtly sexy performance" on "Britain's Got Talent."

Lopez wore a skin-tight black leotard, a skimpy outfit comparable to her revealing look in the "Live It Up" music video, writhing around the stage in what some called an "inappropriate costume."

The controversy spilled onto Twitter, where angry viewers complained about her "raunchy performance on the family show."

"British TV regulator Ofcom released a statement confirming that 'it has received complaints about the 'Britain's Got Talent' broadcast, which at the time said 'we are assessing but not currently investigating,'" gossipcop.com reported.

How did the Lopez take the heat?

The Latin siren seemed thrilled with her appearance, tweeting afterwards, "Thanks got talent for a great night #liveitup #bgt."

Judge and show creator Simon Cowell agreed, and wrote: "Incredible on the show tonight," he wrote about Lopez on Twitter. "A total superstar."
