Brian Austin Green opened up to the media about how thankful he is that he and wife Megan Fox are alright after being hit by a drunk driver.

"It could have ended horribly. We were talking about it today, on the way to run errands. I was saying, 'We're really lucky,'" Green told Us Weekly while attending a charity gala.

The 41-year-old "90210" actor was driving with Fox, 28, on Dec. 4 when an impaired driver crossed lanes and ran into their Range Rover.

Thankfully, the couple's two young sons, Noah, 2-years-old, and Bodhi, 9-months-old, were not in car at the time of the accident.

"[The other driver] was going 50 miles an hour, and we were going 25 down the street, and we hit head-on. The inertia of that is is life changing. That's life changing for us," Green said while at sixth Annual Night of Generosity Gala in Beverly Hills on Dec. 5.

Luckily, no one involved in the frightening experience was seriously injured, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department.

"[The driver] hit the air bag. I got out of the car. I shook hands with the man," Green told the magazine. "The cars did their jobs. That being said, he came around the corner very fast. Let alone, I've heard, he had a few drinks."

Green called authorities at the scene, and the drunk driver was taken into police custody and charged with a DUI, as previously reported.

Fox and Green were married in 2010 following six years of dating, which began in 2004 when she was 18 and he was 30. They were married in the Four Seasons Resort in Maui, Hawaii. Beyond their two children together, Green also has a 12-year-old son Kassius, whom he fathered when he was with actress Vanessa Marcil.
