The greatest three point shooter in NBA history remains unsigned.

Ray Allen is currently an NBA free agent and is receiving a lot of attention from various teams from around the league. Allen has reiterated multiple times that he wants to sign this season for a contending team, but only when the time is right.

Allen holds notable NBA records for most 3-point field goals made in NBA history in both the regular season and postseason. Despite being 39 years old, Allen can still light it up from beyond the arc. Allen won't be affected by the NBA trade deadline, but he has plenty of teams that are making him offers.

Here are five teams who are most likely to sign Allen this season.

1. San Antonio Spurs

What a perfect fit Allen would be with the Spurs.

The Spurs are one of the most efficient perimeter shooting teams in the league thanks to Danny Green and Manu Ginobili. With Patty Mills injured, Allen would get plenty of shots from downtown with the silver and black. The Spurs currently rank 9th overall in 3-point shots made and fifth in 3-point shooting percentage. With Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan, the Spurs are always championship contenders. Allen would be a terrific bench player for the Spurs, providing valuable minutes when needed. If Allen wants to get a lot of rest, play for an elite team and fit into a great system, the Spurs are the perfect choice.

2. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers would be a great for Allen, who has played and won a championship with LeBron James. The Cavaliers are an average three-point shooting team ranking in the middle of the pack, but it never hurts to add the greatest perimeter shooter of all time to the roster. With so many great players on the Cavaliers squad, the team wouldn't have to depend and rely on Allen too much. Allen would also have the benefit of playing in a weak Eastern Conference with inferior defenses guarding him. Imagine James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love and Allen on the floor at the same time?

3. Memphis Grizzlies

Then again, there is another option for Allen.

If Allen wants plenty of playing time, a lot of shots and the spotlight on him, the Memphis Grizzlies could be the best option. At 16-4, the Grizzlies are playing great and are right in the thick of things. But they play in the toughest division in the NBA, the Southwest. The Grizzlies have the No. 1 defense in the league, but rank 17th in team offense. More importantly, the Grizzlies have made the third fewest three-point shots this season. If Allen wants to join a great team and shoot a lot of perimeter shots, the Grizzlies are the perfect fit.

4. Chicago Bulls

For Allen, the Chicago Bulls are in the same boat as the Grizzlies. The Bulls are a quality team, but they rank 15th overall in 3-point shots made this season. The Cavaliers are a better choice if Allen wants to join a powerful team and get resting time in the East, but the Bulls are a better option if he wants more playing time and shot opportunities. Derrick Rose is obviously a great guard, but health and injuries leave a lot of doubt in the Windy City. Adding Allen would create a more balanced attack for the Bulls come playoff time.

5. Golden State Warriors

This may seem crazy because the Golden State Warriors have elite sharp shooters like Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, but Allen may just consider it. Head coach Steve Kerr has done a fantastic job this season, and the Warriors have the best record in the NBA at 18-2. Allen may want to consider the Warriors because he can thrive in their system with Curry leading the way, and he would have a chance at winning a third championship. Allen, Thompson and Curry on the floor at the same time could create the best three-point shooting team in recent memory. Allen may think about joining that roster to make history.
