Later this month, Sony will release its latest video game console, the PlayStation 4 in North America. Last week, Sony posted "PS4: The Ultimate FAQ" to answer all questions gamers have about the new system.

Sony posted their PS4: The Ultimate FAQ on both their North American and European blogs revealing new information about the upcoming release.

The PS4 will not be musical like its predecessors. In fact, it will be the first PlayStation incapable of playing CDs. MP3s and media sharing are also not compatible with the PS4. To distinguish itself even more from its older siblings, the PS4 won't play PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 or PlayStation games.

The PlayStation Camera was also detailed. The feature has not been heavily advertised, but it allows players to control the PS4 via voice, motion and facial recognition. The attachment, which is sold separately, is similar to Xbox One's Kinect camera.

"... the PS4 system is capable of 10x the processing power of [the] PS3 system," the post said, adding that development for the PS4 began in 2008.

The FAQ also reveals that, like the PS3 and PS2, the PS4 can be used while standing both horizontally or vertically. This differs from the Xbox One, which, according to PCR-Online, can only be used horizontally.

The PS4 will also support resolution as high as 1080p via HDMI.

"... support for high-resolution 4K output is still in consideration [but] the PS4 system does not currently support 4K output for games," Sony said.

Gamers who want the full PS4 experience will have to download a 300MB day-one 1.50 software update to their PS4. This will allow them to take advantage of a variety of features including the ability to play online, watch DVDs and Blu-rays as well as gameplay recording and background downloading.

Despite pre-order issues, the PS4 will be released Nov. 15 and Nov. 29 in North America and Europe, respectively.
