The iPhone 5s was expected to find global success and it has done just that. The popular Apple smartphone has sold out in India, the India Times reports.

The most popular iPhone in other parts of the world has been the gold iPhone, which actually has not had as much success domestically for the US-based tech company. According to the India Times, two trade partners of Apple in India said that the tech giant has been unable to keep up with the demand for the iPhone 5s.

Although Apple is enjoying such great success in India, the problems with demand may not just mean that the company is doing well in sales; it also means that Apple may have gone as far as underestimating the amount of phones that they thought would sell.

"The demand surpassed what it anticipated and therefore allocation is also taking time," Gartner principal research analyst Vishal Tripathi said to the India Times.

Overall, the iPhone 5s has been much more popular among smartphone users than the 5c. The budget-friendly 5c has proven to be so unpopular among American consumers that Apple has even started to cut back on its production. Still, the 5c is heavily advertised in the United States as Apple gives it one last try.

The iPhone 5s is so far Apple's fastest and most advanced phone and many are expecting Apple to take it a step further in 2014 with the iPhone 6, which is expected to have an even larger screen than the 5s. The iPhone 5 was the first iPhone to feature a larger screen than its predecessors.
