Looking for a shiny new Microsoft Xbox One or Sony PlayStation 4 to put under the tree this Christmas? Well, time is quickly running out to buy these hot electronics. In fact many big box retailers are completely sold out. For instance Walmart.com is stating that the PS4 and Xbox One is available for pre-order. If you pay for the console(s) today they are guaranteed to arrive at your residence on or before January 10, 2014.

Don't fear, though, because Amazon has a limited number of Xbox One consoles with guaranteed Christmas Day delivery. You can purchase the Xbox One and various games, accessories and LIVE memberships here. Currently, buying a PS4 from Amazon in time for Christmas isn't possible. They start shipping on Dec. 27. Third party resellers will sell you the system for various prices, including an incredible $800.00. You'd be better off waiting until after instead of spending twice the money just to get a console in time for the holiday.

Best Buy also has Xbox One game consoles in stock, though only bundles are available. This means that you cannot just buy the console itself. You have to purchase an extra item or two in edition to the system itself. Unfortunately the bundles won't save you any money. Check out all the available bundles here.

If you're in the U.K. you are in luck as retailer GAME has consoles available in stores. Thousands of Xbox One consoles will be available on the retailers website and well as in stores across England. If you are a true procrastinator, you have up until 1 p.m. .Dec. 23 to order a console for Christmas. The company didn't specify details on whether the console ships to your home or to the GAME store itself. Currently PS4's are only available in GAME stores and not online. As of this publication, the very limited stock has probably all but sold out by now.

It may just be better to wait to purchase a system until later on in 2014. Currently the launch day titles for both Xbox One and PS4 are underwhelming to say the least. It could be argued that the graphics aren't even that much improved over the Xbox 360 and PS3 at this point. Adding insult to injury, some consumers have even reported hardware issues with the Xbox One already. The most common complaint seems to stem from a faulty disk drive that refuses to spin.

You can always skip these consoles and purchase a Wii U. The stock on the underperforming Nintendo console is in great supply. Some good games exist particularly when you take into account Nintendo exclusives like Mario and Zelda.
