Jan. 12 2014 marked yet another year of Charlie Todd's "Improv Everywhere" event of "No Pants Subway Ride." But the creator of the We Cause Scenes documentary available now on iTunes, started the "no pants" craze in New York City just to brighten up people's day. Today, the whole world joins in on the January event where "no pantalones" became a tradition.

Tired of your everyday routine? Are you one of those people that stops and wonder if you forgot to wear pants today (I swear I often panic that I forgot to put on pants to go outside)? Well, not to worry because every January New York City and the rest of the world, rides subways wearing no pants whoohoo!

Charlie Todd started his "improv" in New York City with a group of friends in 2001. They called their pranks, "missions" as they set out to do weird things in public in order to break the routine in New Yorker's busy days. "Improv Everywhere" began getting media attention as they started to upload all of their high fiving and freeze tagging antics on to the internet. In 2002, Todd and friends joined together to ride the subway pant-less.

The prank was actually in celebration of an actual New Yorker who really forgot to wear his pants and realized it once he was on the subway back in 1986 (do you understand my fear now?). The January 1986 incident was embarrassing to the man, but at the same time amusing as people stared and laughed innocently. Today the "No Pants Subway Ride" has evolved from a "small prank" into an "international celebration of silliness," Todd stated.

On Jan. 12 we witnessed pant -less riders in New York City, guys and girls, parading around in their winter coats, winter hats and underwear. Subway riders in India, Belgium, Germany, Hong Kong, London and Bulgaria (Just to name some countries) joined in on the fun. The youngest participant this year was Shuntaro Miyazaki, who at one-years old joined his parents Izumi and Zack Miyazaki in his first "No Pants Subway Ride" in New York City.

Change it up and express your freedom, which is the point of this craze. Will you be joining next year?
