Influencing the way we dress, the jokes we tell and even the lives we live.

So the next time you find yourself comparing your relationship to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's, don't be ashamed. Here are some celebrity scandals that shocked us, entertained us, made us sad and made us happy. This is no television drama starring Kerry Washington; let's share Hollywood's most scandalous relationship mistakes.

1. The Royal Scandal

Prince William and Kate Middleton were married on Apr. 29, 2011 at the Buckingham Palace in London. This scandal is way passed Hollywood and meets in the land of Kings and Queens. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are a couple whom everybody adores. But what happened in 2012 was an unprecedented scandal.

Three magazine publications in France, Italy and Denmark were the subjects responsible for the humiliation of a future Queen. Without any remorse, The Closer (France), CHI (Italy) and Se Og Hor (Denmark) published nude photos taken of Kate Middleton on the cover of their magazines. The photos were taken while The Duchess was in the balcony of the Château d'Autet while vacationing in France.

After Prince William declared total outrage, one of the publications explained that a regular onlooker, in a public place, took the shots. "I published them with a conviction that they are pictures of a modern contemporary duchess," said Alfonso Signorini from CHI magazine. The photos were never taken down and legal action was taken against The Closer, the French publication that originated the pictures.

The Duke and Duchess are still happily together and scandal didn't rock their marriage one bit, welcoming son Prince George of Cambridge on Jul. 22, 2013.

2. Travolta's Saturday Night Fever

John Travolta and Kelly Preston have been married for 21 years. It hasn't always been happy times in the Travolta household but Kelly says, "You have to keep creating it." In 2009, Preston and Travolta suffered the most intense pain a parent can feel. Their 16-year old son Jett passed away from a seizure, leaving the couple truly destroyed. But together, they found the strength to "want to live," says Kelly, and managed to keep their marriage solid. Kelly and John even welcome son Benjamin in 2010.

The true test of their marriage came about in 2012. Male masseurs against Travolta, creating a true scandal, brought up allegations of molestation and sexual abuse. Travolta was actually sued for inappropriate suggestions of happy endings and touching of the male workers. The Grease mega star denied the accusations against him and defended his innocence until the end. Wife Kelly never left his side and also stood by her husband who many claim was just another easy Hollywood target for some money hungry people.

3. "What's Love Without Tragedy"

Rihanna and Chris Brown's relationship, though tragic, is relatable to many young people out there. Being a Rihanna fan, her turbulent relationship with singer Chris Brown has been the theme of many heart-warming songs. With many young girls being able to identify with falling in love with your fairytale prince at a young age, Rihanna's decision to go back to Brown later on in life was not uncommon.

One of the biggest scandals in the entertainment business was the 2009 assault case involving Rihanna and Chris Brown. The photos of Rihanna's pummeled face revealed by TMZ will always be fresh on our minds. A sweet West Virginia R&B singer adored by all and a beautiful Barbadian songstress somehow fell into the claws of anger. Today Chris Brown has a certified anger problem and Rihanna has ventured out to focusing on her career.

In 2012, after the restraining order was over between them, Chris and Ri reunited. The relationship failed once again, this time a bit more peacefully and the couple has been estranged since. Brown is still under probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009.

4. "Khloé and Lamar"

Khloé and Lamar. The most talked about split of 2013 and still rolling it's popularity into 2014. The youngest of the Kardashian sisters, Khloé Kardashian married basketball player Lamar Odom in 2009 after only dating for a month the couple got married in a beautifully lavender themed wedding. Though they seemed to be a match made in heaven, even landing their own spin off show to Keeping Up With The Kardashians, things changed.

After four years of what seem to be a solid union, Lamar began to struggle with an addiction to crack-cocaine and even rumored infidelities. Khloé, who stood by her husband at the beginning, finally filed for divorce in December of 2013. After a pretty disturbing video of Lamar rapping some pretty weird things and allegedly "high," Khloé had enough.

Today, we get to see the story really unfold on Season 9 of KUWTK. Khloe is currently single and Lamar is focusing on his recovery and being drafted back into an NBA team.

5. A Presidential Hiccup

Bill Clinton and Hilary Clinton ran the country in 1998. America was overall pretty pleased with the Bill Clinton presidency, which began in 1995. Bill and Hilary had been married for 23 years by 1998 and they were a pretty strong force together. Hilary was very involved in government relations herself and is known as one of the world's most influential women.

Along with Clinton's 1995 first term came Monica Lewinsky. Lewinsky was a graduate of Lewis & Clark College and was hired as an intern at the White House. In 1998, Linda Tripp, a "friend" and co-worker of the Defense Department, revealed some tapes she had recorded of conversations with Monica. In the tapes, Lewinsky confided in Tripp, talking to her about her sexual relationship with the married president.

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman" were the unforgettable claims of The United States President. After evidence appeared on what became the infamous blue dress that Lewinsky never dry-cleaned, Clinton admitted his faults. Hilary and Bill Clinton remain married to this day and you will never hear the former first lady even mention the scandal that rocked a nation.

6. The Prince of Everlasting Rumors

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been married for 17 years. Together they have two kids, Willow and Jaden Smith. Trey Smith is Will's older son from his first marriage to Sheree Zampino. Jada and Will are mega successful actors, writers, musicians and well, the list goes on. They have proved to have a strong relationship and manage to look extremely happy all the time.

Pinkett and Smith have been in the rumor mill many times. From being "known" to have an open relationship to getting a divorce every other month, this is what Jada and Will are used to dealing with. But a scandal in 2012 insinuating that Smith and actor Duane Martin were more than friends was really rough. The tabloid magazine claimed that Will was spending more time with Duane, who is married to actress Tisha Campbell, than Jada and his kids.

The couple remains together, though the rumors of a divorce continue. Smith has never explained the terms of his "open marriage" with his wife but the Duane rumor seem to be a little over the top. The two men have been long time friends and that seems to be the end of it.

These have been the most scandalous scandals in celebrity relationships. There are soooo many that we did not get to cover. What can you learn from these couples? And what other scandals have you heard?
