This is what we call a way to solve "First World" problems. A new app called 5by helps users choose videos to watch on YouTube and Vimeo according to the person's mood and personality. So now while you're laying in bed watching videos, you don't even have to pretend that you're doing something, there's an app for that.

"When you go to YouTube you see a sea of content and recommendations, but sometimes it's hard to figure out what to watch," said Greg Isenberg, Chief Executive Officer of 5by, a Canadian company now based in San Francisco after being acquired by the website StumbleUpon.com in 2013. "Entertainment needs to be easy. We're like a video concierge that is continually asking questions to get you to the right playlist," Greg added.

So how does it work? The app for iPads and iPhones will ask users questions about what activities they enjoy, what their friends are like, and their dream vacation. Based on the information acquired from the pesky questions, 5by will choose your perfect video. The videos are also chosen depending on the day of the week and the time. Also, 5by is courteous enough to ask you how much time you have and also bases its decision on that.

Rabt is another video app for iPads and iPhones with curates 60 minutes of videos each day based on a user's personality and preferences. The app provides photos that users can choose from which resemble their personality the most, this is used to determine what the person is uniquely like. The process seems pretty simple and fun. It's interesting to see what technology thinks of you based on the videos that it suggests.

The apps promise to be successful, as smartphone video use has become pretty popular. Google reported that 40 percent of its YouTube traffic was from mobile devices last year. This also proves how unamused we are with the outside world...
