WWE just made it official and announced that Brock Lesnar will face The Undertaker at the SummerSlam 2015 event happening on August 23 in New York City.

The 50-year-old wrestler returned to the WWE pay-per-view event Battleground on Sunday and messed with the World Heavyweight Championship match between Lesnar and Seth Rollins. Because of his interference, the former MMA fighter was not able to take home the championship belt, reported Talk Sport.

The Undertaker delivered a chokeslam and two Tombstone Piledrivers to Lesnar in a manner that seemed to prove his point on who is the better fighter between them.

The 21-winning streak Wrestlemania title holder was last seen in WWE in March, when he won against Bray Wyatt. Since then, he has been missing in action until his "resurrection" at the Battleground event.

The veteran wrestler once again showed his face on Monday Night RAW where he explained the reason for his appearance in the match.

It seems that The Undertaker is fed up with hearing Paul Heyman's arrogant declaration that Lesnar was the one opponent who broke the veteran wrestler's winning streak, noted Cageside Seats. Undertaker has finally decided that he will fight Lesnar to prove he is better than him.

"Last night marked my resurrection, you can't kill what won't die," said The Undertaker, while addressing Lesnar on Monday Night RAW. "I will challenge your mortality. I will conquer what has yet to be conquered. Just like every other living thing - be it Man or Beast - you will rest in peace!"

Heyman accepted the challenge for Lesnar, according to USA Today. However, his speech was interrupted when the Undertaker charged toward him in the stage, which erupted in a full on brawl when Lesnar appeared.

A post on WWE's Twitter handle showed a clip of both Triple H and Stephanie MacMahon watching the whole scene from a television backstage. The duo apparently found Undertaker's quest for retribution big enough to be the main event in this year's SummerSlam.

The clip was posted with the caption, "#TheAuthority knows what they want their @SummerSlam main event to be! Raw #Undertaker @BrockLesnar"

It is not yet clear whether the main event will feature any special conditions or if it will remain as a straight singles bout between the two wrestlers. But the event is still a long way off and many changes and things can still happen.

SummerSlam 2015 is set on August 23, at the Barclays Center in New York.
