Vin Diesel solemnly sang the praises of fallen cast mate Paul Walker during an emotionally charged acceptance speech at the Teen Choice Awards that stood out as much as any of the night's other glitz-filled moments.

"I can't stand here and be rewarded like this without talking about somebody very, very, very important to us," Entertainment Weekly reports Diesel reflected as he stood alongside costars Ludacris, Jordana Brewster and Michelle Rodriguez and accepted the award for Choice Movie: Action.

With the crowd wildly cheering, Diesel added, "One of the best blessings in our lives is the fact that we have the opportunity to call Pablo our brother. Paul Walker is here in spirit with us."

The 48-year-old Diesel also thanked Walker's family for keeping the cast "going" after his death, including daughter Meadow, whom he described as a "very, very, very special teen."

Walker, 40, died in a fiery, single-car crash on a California highway in late November 2013. Authorities later ruled at the time his 2005 Porsche Carrera GT crashed, "speed was a factor."

According to Today, the driver of the car, Walker's friend Roger Rodas, was also killed. An investigation by the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department later revealed the car crashed into a light pole and a tree before instantly bursting into flames. At the time of his death, Walker was rumored to be on hiatus from shooting a "Fast & Furious" flick.

In Touch Weekly previously reported that to finish Walker's parts for "Fast & Furious 7," movie execs used his brother Cody in some scenes and CGI technology for others.

Since directly working in the film, Cody Walker, 26, has indicated he plans to follow in his brother's footsteps and pursue a career in acting.
