When Bethesda announced that the studio is busy developing "Fallout 4," fans expected a class "A" video game upon its release. However, this was not the case as Bethesda received criticisms about the graphics of the game.

According to GameSpot, During the E3 event in June, game director Todd Howard admitted that the graphics for "Fallout 4" was a little bit subpar compared to the other games that they created. This was not taken into consideration by fans who were obviously upset about the game's poor graphics.

In an interview with Metro, Bethesda's Pete Hines addressed the criticisms. He implied that it was the least of their concerns at the moment and that it definitely did not upset the team. The entertainment world had been all sorts of praise and criticisms. This time, he said, "everybody is entitled to their opinion."

When fans pointed out that "Fallout 4" showed similarity with "Fallout 3" in its lack of new features, Hines stressed that that the game "ought to look and feel familiar." He said that that was the idea — "a mix of familiar and different."

"There are things that are the same and there are things that are very different," Hines added.

But one thing's for sure, "Fallout 4" has something very different from "Fallout 3" despite fans claiming there are no significant new features.

When Bethesda geared up to reveal its trailer last Wednesday, fans were eager to watch and see the long-awaited successor of "Fallout 3." However, after the three-minute trailer, Bethesda was greeted with less enthusiasm, particularly about the graphics.

Besides the graphics, the storyline was almost the same in "Fallout 3" with very little interesting challenges ahead. Patches and modes for the game were insignificant.

Destructoid featured some of Hines' interviews, where he said that he was more open to the idea that fans should accept it as it is, saying, "Here's what we're doing and here's what it's gonna be like." Bethesda further said that when they develop the game, they show their fans its look, modes, graphics, etc., and if it doesn't sound favorable to them, they can leave it.

According to VG247, Bethesda, during the E3 convention, said that they are more concentrated in providing new game modes and gameplay options rather than putting all their time in developing the game's graphics.
