Lifetime reality dance series "Dance Moms" is among the popular hits of the network, following the true-to-life challenges and excitement of the competitive dance world. However, recent reports reveal that very little of the show is true to life and most of what the audience see is scripted.

According a Radar Online source, each scene and routine that's shown onscreen is filmed several times by the producers.

"Abby Lee's girls filmed their dances multiple times, and they'd say 'This one is for extra,' or 'This one is for production,'" the insider told Radar Online. "Only Abby Lee's girls got to do their dances multiple times."

This multiple-take setup seems to give the stars of "Dance Moms" the advantage, since their other competitors are only granted one chance to take to the stage. However, the insider believed that even the competitions are staged for the benefit of the television show.

"It seemed like they were going to film it and let Abby Lee's people win everything," the source explained. "And let a couple of other people win first place occasionally in categories they didn't have dancers in."

Even Cathy Nesbitt-Stein, Miller's rival, is apparently aware of the scripted nature of the show, the source added.

Apart from the competitions, the crowd reactions were allegedly "fake" as well, as it was often filmed separately from the performances.

"Nobody from the show was sitting with the rest of us losers [in the audience]," the insider said about the crowd shots. "Then they would bring out Cathy's people from Candy Apples to film their fake reactions."

Furthermore, the source said that multiple re-shoots took a long time, tiring out the dancers and moms with twelve-hour work days.

"Dance Moms" is set for a sixth season, but there has been no confirmation on the release date for this upcoming season. There has also been doubts on the return of famous coach Miller, who has dropped hints on her exit in previous reports.

"I think that this has been a great run and I don't like what happened at the competition," Miller admitted during the reunion show interview with host Jeff Collins. "Maybe like 'Friends' you go out when you're on top."

Similarly, her star student Maddie Ziegler is rumored to leave the show as well, in lieu of multiple opportunities coming her way.

Meanwhile, Collins recently appeared on AfterBuzz TV and based from what the producer said, recently engaged Kira Girard and daughter Kalani Hilliker, Holly Hatcher-Frazier and daughter Nia Sioux Frazier and Ava Cota and mom Jeanette Cota will most likely return to "Dance Moms" season 6.
