Gabriel Chavarria has landed a role in the upcoming "War of the Planet of the Apes."

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actor has landed a key role in the film, and he is early talks for it. No official confirmation has been given, but it is very likely Chavarria will be in the upcoming film.

If he ends up signing on to the role, Chavarria would be one of the few Latinos in the film, and it could be a huge breakout for the actor.

Chavarria is a well-known rising star who had his first part in the acclaimed film "Freedom Writers" with Hilary Swank. He was also part of the Oscar nominated drama "A Better Life," which was directed by Chris Weitz and starred Demian Bichir.

Currently, the actor is a series regular on Hulu's "East Los High" and will be in Universal's upcoming picture "Low Riders."

"War of the Planet of the Apes" will be directed by Matt Reeves, who directed 2014's "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."

Meanwhile, Mark Bomback will work as the screenwriter, and Chernin Entertainment will act as producer.

"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" was a huge hit in 2014 as it went on to become the highest-grossing "Planet of the Apes" film and was also critically acclaimed. It also went on to get nominated for the Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" was also considered a huge hit as it also grossed more than $200 million and was also nominated for an Oscar.

It is unclear where the "Planet of the Apes" story will go or whether it will continue Caesar's story as preproduction is still in full swing.

No actors are currently attached. The film is slated for July 14, 2017.
