Marc Anthony has joined a growing list of high-profile Latinos with very little tolerance left for the antics of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"What does it matter how much money you have when everything that comes out of your mouth isn't worth 2 cents," Anthony tweeted. He later added in a post written in both English and Spanish, "Latinos, it's time to show who we are!!!"

In recent days, both Ricky Martin and Wisin have also taken Trump to task for some of the controversial comments made about Latinos and the issue of immigration.

Martin sprang into action this week when Trump booted Jorge Ramos out of one of his press conferences and barked at him "go back to Univision." Following that episode, Martin penned an open letter to Trump, where he railed against his "gratuitous" harassment of Latinos.

Fellow Puerto Rican Wisin soon followed up, reasoning, "Someone who disrespects one of us, disrespects all of us."

Currently on tour, Anthony didn't go as far as to ink a letter, but his actions were forceful. He has proven to be someone who rarely allows himself to be drawn into political spats that play out in public.

To the surprise of many, however, Trump's overall appeal, as reflected in some polls, continues to grow among sectors of voters.

In a Quinnipiac University poll released late this week, Trump led all GOP candidates with 28 percent support from registered Republican voters, compared to just 12 percent for his closest challenger Ben Carson.

Trump's overall percentage of the vote represents an eight percent rise from just last month, when the support for him was registered at 20 percent. Trump's overall numbers currently place him more than 20 points ahead of expected front-runner Jeb Bush (seven percent), who is fluent in Spanish and is married to a Mexico-born Columba Bush.
