Juan Manuel Marquez will meet with Zanfer Promotions officials this weekend to discuss his plans.

Marquez, who holds a 56-7-1 record with 40 knockout victories, has not fought since scoring a unanimous decision win against Mike Alvarado during their World Boxing Organization International welterweight title fight in May 2014.

Zanfer Promotions Chief Operating Officer Guillermo Brito told ESPN Deportes, as reported by BoxingScene, that a meeting is set this weekend, where Marquez will talk about his possible comeback fight.

According to Brito, they are still unsure if Marquez is really eyeing one more fight before retiring. But in case the 42-year-old is interested in stepping inside the boxing ring again, Brito added that Zanfer Promotions and Marquez might also talk about possible opponents in the meeting.

"This weekend we will have a meeting with Juan Manuel Marquez," Brito confirmed. "We have no idea what will happen with him. If he wants to return, how he wants to return, if he is interested in the championship or a farewell fight. I'll know everything once Fernando Beltran meets him."

Will Marquez Consider Facing Shane Mosley?

Shane Mosley is eyeing a showdown with Marquez because he thinks fans will love a fight between two legends.

Mosley, who is coming off a sixth-round knockout victory against Ricardo Mayorga in their rematch on Saturday night at The Forum in Los Angeles, said that Marquez is on top of his wish list along with International Boxing Federation welterweight champion Kell Brook.

"Personally I would like to fight Marquez next," Mosley told BoxingScene. "He is a legend on my level and a fighter, so it will be a good show. Either Marquez or I would like to fight Kell Brook and snatch the belt from him."

However, Marquez and his camp, including veteran trainer Nacho Beristain, made it no secret that the Mexican boxing warrior is eyeing a fifth world title in as many divisions.

Mosley does not hold a world title, which could take the 43-year-old out of Marquez's list of possible opponents.

Brook, who is set to defend his IBF welterweight title against Diego Chavez, is continuously being linked to a fight against Marquez. Beristain confirmed late last month that they are open to facing Brook as long as the fight will not be staged in England. A rematch with WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is also an option for Marquez.

"If he returns, I think it should be for a championship," Beristain said. "I think it doesn't matter to him whether it's Tim Bradley or Kell Brook, but for me Brook is better, but that would have to be in the United States because I would not like to go to England."
