"The X-Factor UK" is reportedly eyeing One Direction member Louis Tomlinson to join the show to help it get high viewer ratings. It's reported that the ITV music show lost to "Strictly Come Dancing" during its return to BBC for its new season on Saturday.

Simon reportedly doesn't want to take chances when it comes to getting high viewership for "The X-Factor UK." The music mogul has reportedly drafted in the soon-to-be-father to join him on the show.

A source told The Sun that Simon Cowell wants Louis to join "The X-Factor UK" at the judges' houses stage of the competition, so he can pull in more TV viewers. Louis will reportedly be replacing the 51-year-old Sinitta during his stint as a judge.

"Simon is pulling out the big guns as he is still determined to make this series a huge success. One Direction have always been big ratings winners and Louis is the most outspoken of the band. He won't be afraid to tell people if they're terrible, which Simon loves," the source said.

According to Mirror UK, the launch of "Strictly Come Dancing" attracted an average of 8.7 million views, while "The X-Factor UK" only gained an average of 7.5 million views. Out of the estimated 9.7 million people tuning in to their television sets on Saturday, around 41.7 percent watched the BBC dance show, whereas, "The X-Factor," on its third show in its new series only had 32.8 percent.

An insider told The Sun that the ITV show is actually "up half a million in peak viewing." However, the show's big bosses are reportedly just reacting to what's going on, since they don't want to risk the chance of losing their views to the opposing network.

Sinitta also previously tipped the One Direction member to be an "amazing" replacement for Louis Walsh as judge on "The X-Factor UK." According to Metro UK, back in April during the unveiling of the commemorative blue plaque at London's Red Bus studios, the 51-year-old said," I could definitely see him going into music management and production so it's a good place to start."

Sinitta reportedly said that Tomlinson's backstage experience, working during the show's last series will help his work as a judge. "He spent a lot of time with us last year, mentoring the talent and watching rehearsals," she added, according to the Metro UK report.

It's uncertain if Louis will take the judging post at "The X-Factor UK." However, it's believed One Direction will be at the music competition before their break in 2016. Yahoo said Simon once teased that the group will be at the show's finals.
