Details of the upcoming LG Nexus 5X has been leaked profusely over the last several days. Each tip has added to the handset's growing list of specifications. However, it has been three full days since the last known information about it came about and fans have been itching to know more.

Fortunately, a new leak from an Italian tech website has infused new life to the Nexus 5X talks.

The live still was first sourced by Gli Stockisti. The image showcased an internal slide of a black Nexus 5X codenamed "Project N3." It can be remembered that most of the handset's prior leaks involved a white variant.

"That kind of makes sense, since this would be the third Nexus that LG's made. As with the pictures of the white model, the fingerprint sensor is in the same location underneath the camera, while the LED flash and the laser autofocus are both on the same side of it," GSM Arena wrote of the latest leaked image.

Freshly known features of the Nexus 5X is that it has LTE Cat.6 support right out the box. This implies the handset could potentially reach maximum download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and maximum upload speeds to 50 Mbps.

Previously uncovered specs of the Nexus 5X include the following:

  • 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen display
  • Snapdragon 808 chipset from Qualcomm
  • 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage.
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage.
  • 12.3-megapixel rear camera and a five-megapixel selfie shooter
  • USB Type-C connector
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Sources from Android Authority earlier reported that the Nexus 5X's 16 GB internal memory model will cost $399 while its 32 GB variant will retail for $449.

Its built-in software will undoubtedly be Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which has done wonders for prior Nexus devices.

According to a software test by Computer Base, as translated by 9to5Mac, a Nexus 5 seeded with the Android M lasts 300 percent longer than those running on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

After leaving both devices idle for a day, the Nexus 5 running on the Lollipop reduced 12 percent battery charge while Android M-supported device merely consumed 4.5 percent charge.

After two days, the Lollipop Nexus 5 had shed 24 percent of its battery life while the Android M Nexus 5 only lost 9 percent.

LG's Nexus 5x is expected to launch during Google's Sept. 29 media event. It will be sharing center stage with Huawei's Nexus 6.
