The term "nexus" means a series of connections that link two or more things. In the tech industry, though, "nexus" is synonymous with the string of handsets commissioned by Google.

Google has a knack for using its Nexus devices to launch the company's latest Android software. Furthermore, the company's Nexus lineup is well-known to be free of unnecessary bloatware and third-party apps from mobile carriers or other non-Google Android-based device manufacturers. It is by this that the Nexus brand is widely said to deliver the "purest" Android experience.

However, rumors of the upcoming LG-manufactured Nexus have not been as pure as its name implies. Specs of the Nexus 5X have been uncovered via installments. Luckily, tech detectives are nearing an end to their investigation, and with the onset of the latest online leak, not much else is left unknown about the handset.

A recent image from Android Pit suggests that the Nexus 5X will feature a fingerprint sensor and a rear camera with dual-flash capabilities, on top of what has been previously known of the device.

The live still corroborated on previous rumors from Tech Times that indicated the Nexus 5X will have a fingerprint sensor. The said feature can be seen below its rear camera while a dual-LED flash and auto-focus module is positioned on the left side of its lens.

"The only detail I'd note that might be wrong on this image is that we'd previously seen an LG logo along the bottom of the device (below the Nexus logo), though it's possible this will only appear in some markets or that it was removed from the final design of the device," Android Police speculated.

Per a previous Latin Post report, the Nexus 5X includes the following specs:

  • 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen display
  • Snapdragon 808 chipset from Qualcomm
  • 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage.
  • 3 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB or 32 GB internal storage.
  • 12.3-megapixel rear camera and a five-megapixel selfie shooter
  • USB Type-C connector
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Sources from Android Authority earlier divulged that the Nexus 5X's 16 GB internal memory model will cost $399 while its 32 GB variantl will retail for $449.

The Nexus 5X won't be the only Nexus coming out this year as Google has also commissioned Huawei to manufacture a bigger Nexus to go along with the LG smartphone. Huawei's version is known as the Nexus 6. Its 3D-CAD render was previously tipped on YouTube by reliable tipster @OnLeaks.

A previous report on Latin Post notes that the Nexus 5X will measure 5.2 inches while the Nexus 6 will be 5.7 inches.
