Google will introduce two new Nexus smartphones later this month. One manufactured by LG and the other by Huawei.

Sources told CNet that the pair of Nexus is scheduled to be shown off at Google's Sept. 29 press event in San Francisco.

The LG Nexus will be the smaller of the two at 5.2 inches. The Huawei Nexus, on the other hand, will be at 5.7 inches. Amid their size difference, both handsets will allegedly run on Android 6.0 "Marshmallow," making them the first pair of devices to run on the new OS straight out the box.

This comes as no surprise as Google has had the reputation of using Nexus devices to showcase the company's latest Android software and other smartphone innovations. The Nexus brand is said to be the cream of the crop of Android devices since they deliver the "purest" Android experience. Aside from boasting the latest in Android technology, Nexus devices are known to be free of unnecessary bloatware and third-party apps from mobile carriers or from other Android-based device manufacturers.

In a previous Latin Post report, LG's upcoming Nexus will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 808 chipset while being equipped with a 2,700 mAh battery and 3 GB of RAM. The device, which is said to be LG's version of the Nexus 5, will have three color variants: black, white and blue. The device will be fitted with a 12.3-megapixel main camera and a five-megapixel selfie shooter.

According to Android Police, fans can choose to go with a 16 GB or 32 GB internal memory variant of the LG Nexus 5 (2015). It was confirmed that the device will have a USB Type-C port, yet it is still unclear whether it is the newer USB 3 or merely an upgraded USB 2.0.

Meanwhile, the Huawei product will allegedly be called the Huawei Nexus 6. A 3D-CAD render of the Nexus 6 was previously leaked by Steve Hemmerstoffer aka @OnLeaks. The video, which you can access on YouTube, has since garnered 246,000 views as of press time.

The render also hints that the Huawei Nexus 6 will have a similar rear fingerprint scanner as the LG Nexus 5 (2015).

Citing the leaked render video, GSM Arena earlier elaborated on the similarities between the Huawei Nexus and LG Nexus.

Both devices are equipped with the new USB Type-C port, which will become the norm in smartphone connectivity for years to come as well as having the same stereo speakers design.

If recent reports prove to be accurate, the two new Nexus smartphones will be unveiled 20 days after Apple introduces the pair of next generation iPhones on Sept. 9.
