This week a number of new films will be releaseD on DVD including two big blockbusters and four critically acclaimed Indies. These films come out at a time when audiences are waiting for the Oscar contenders and critically acclaimed films that could potentially end up on top 10 lists.

Weekly Highlights

"Furious 7" - The latest film in the series comes out a few months after breaking box office records and scoring great reviews. "Furious 7" tells the story of Deckard Shaw, who seeks revenge against Dominic Toretto and his family. The movie was a very nostalgic experience for audiences and fans of the series because it was a goodbye to Paul Walker, the actor who originated the films. Also starring Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Michelle Rodriguez, the movie was hailed by critics and Latin Post wrote, "this action soap opera delivers on a number of fronts, but most importantly in sending one of its big heroes away on a touching and sincere note." "Furious 7" may be a sequel but the film will definitely appeal to action fans and fans of the series.

"Cinderella" - Disney's beloved classic returns and this time in a live action edition. The movie tells the story of Ella who finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother and her daughters when her father unexpectedly passes away. The movie stars Lily James and Cate Blanchett and it was hailed by critics, becoming a juggernaut at the box office. Latin Post wrote, "A Solid Retelling with Great Performances by Cate Blanchett and Lily James." While the movie was not Disney's highest-grossing live action film, it still gave confidence to the studio to schedule more live action adaptations. "Cinderella" is currently generating awards buzz, which could help it expand its audience. However, it will most likely attract fans of the original film and Disney enthusiasts.
