Sony announced through its PlayStation Blog on Tuesday that the wildly popular PlayStation Vita video game Gravity Rush will be remastered and released in the U.S. for PlayStation 4 on Feb. 9, 2016.

Gamers will enjoy the PS4's vibrant HD 1080p visuals, as heroine Kat and her sidekick Dusty take on adventures while soaring through the fascinating city of Hekseville. Gravity Rush Remastered provides graphical and performance improvements as well to help Kat's quest for answers to her forgotten past and gravity-defying powers.

The three original DLC packs included with Gravity Rush's initial release -- The Spy Pack, The Maid Pack, and The Military Pack -- will also come with the PlayStation 4 version of the game. Each DLC pack includes a costume that coincides with the pack title, two missions and two challenges.

Gravity Rush, known as Gravity Daze in Japan, initially launched on PlayStation Vita in 2012. A sequel to the video game was teased at the Tokyo Game Show 2013, but it wasn't until the game was recently rated for PS4 by the Korean Game Rating Board that the remaster was confirmed.

The highly-acclaimed PlayStation Vita hit is about a young girl named Kat who has amnesia. The game's storyline begins in the floating city of Hekseville, where Kat receives the power to control gravity from a mysterious black cat. She uses this ability to protect people from an impending gravity storm and the Nevi monsters that have come along with it, reports PlayStation Asia.

Player's help Kat in her amazing gravity-defying journey to save Hekseville from destruction, while also trying to piece together her forgotten past.

A Collector's Edition of the original Gravity Daze will be available for PlayStation 4 on Dec. 10, 2015 in Japan.

Europe will be able to purchase the remastered Gravity Rush on Feb. 10, 2016.

A sequel titled Gravity Rush 2 is also set to be released in 2016, reports Video Gamer.
