Two separate sources have recently leaked the hotly anticipated HTC One A9. The first image showed off the handset rocking an iPhone 6-like design. The second image took it further by revealing six color options of HTC's rumored next-generation flagship smartphone.

According to GSM Arena, the HTC One A9's metal build, white color scheme and fingerprint sensor that doubles as a home button give off the impression that HTC drew inspiration from both the iPhone 6 and Galaxy S6. Click here to view the live snapshot of the white HTC One A9 courtesy of French tech site, No Where Else.

Shortly after, it was Evan Blass' turn to show off the handset online. Widely known in the tech community as "@evleaks," the 37-year-old blogger and tech tipster posted on his Twitter account supposed press renders of the HTC One A9.

The image indicated that HTC's upcoming high-end device will be available in six color options namely Acid Gold, Carbon Gray, Cast Iron, Deep Garnet, Opal Silver and Rose Gold.

Specs of the One A9 include a five-inch 1080 x 1920 AMOLED display, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM with 16GB expandable memory and a modest 2,150 mAh battery.

ROM developer and usually consistent tech leaker LlabTooFer previously posted on Twitter that the One A9 will be running on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box.

A prior report from Chinese website ePrice, via G for Games, suggested that the One A9 will be introduced together with HTC's Butterfly 3 during a press event on Sept. 29.

However, a more recent tweet from LlabTooFer indicated that an updated One M9 will accompany the Butterfly 3 during the said event, not the One A9.

As stated on the tweet, the Butterfly 3 will be exclusively launched in China while it wasn't specified whether or not the updated HTC One M9+ will be the same.

HTC fans outside of China shouldn't lose hope, though, since Phone Arena pointed out that the Butterfly 3 was already released in Japan earlier this year as an "exclusive" product for a Japanese mobile carrier.

Also, the One M9+ is still being sold in some parts of Asia and Europe. It can be assumed that the updated version of the handset will eventually make its way to the global market.

Regarding the specs of both devices, a prior benchmark listing on Compu Bench has leaked the Butterfly 3's specs. Meanwhile, the One M9+ will probably continue the trend of its predecessors and be fitted a MediaTek processor, but not much else is known about it at this time.
