Veteran boxing coach Freddie Roach wants Juan Manuel "Dinamita" Marquez for the eight-division world champion Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao's next fight.

Recently, Roach revealed to ESNews that Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, who serves as "Pacman's" promoter, asked him to pick three names for the Filipino icon's next opponent for his comeback fight in 2016. Arum reportedly threw him the names of International Boxing Federation welterweight champion Kell Brook, World Boxing Council Silver welterweight titleholder Amir Khan and Mexican legend Marquez. That time, Roach did not actually pick anyone because for him, anybody is an easy fight for the "People's Champ."

Yet, now, Roach is personally choosing "Dinamita," who knocked out Pacquiao in their fourth battle in 2012, Boxing Scene reported.

"But out of those names, I want the easiest fight for Manny and we can get back on track. So I think he's the easiest opponent of those guys," the world-class trainer said.

"Dinamita," who is considered as "Pacman's" arch enemy, told ESPN Deportes that although Pacquiao's camp is selling him the idea of a fifth bout for their popular Pacquiao vs. Marquez boxing saga, he is "no longer" interested in fighting Pacquiao, a separate Boxing Scene article noted.

However, Roach dismissed the Mexican superstar's statements, basing on what Arum told him that Marquez is actually still interested in the match.

Still, will "Pacman," who is still recovering from a shoulder injury sustained while training for his May 2 bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. be ready to face "Dinamita?" Even though Marquez was unsuccessful to put "Pacman" down in their first three fights in 2004, 2008 and 2011, the Mexican fighter gave a stop in Pacquiao's winning streak during their fourth match.

Roach seemed optimistic that the 35-year-old seasoned fighter had learned his lesson from that one-punch loss to hopefully make him more calculating or cautious next time. The trainer insisted that a fight with Marquez was the safest bet compared to fighting with the other two boxers, the undefeated Brook and his former sparring partner at the Wild Card Gym, "King Khan."

"It was just one punch, Manny was fighting a really good fight going into that one punch but we know it's a possibility but the thing is he's been off for more than a year now and out of those guys, I think he's the safest of the guys," Roach said.

Although Roach likes Marquez for his warrior, Arum and Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz are both inclined into choosing Khan for him, with the IBF titlist Kell Brook as the second choice, a separate report from Boxing Scene informed.
