The world-renowned author George R.R. Martin, whose "A Song of Ice and Fire" series inspired HBO's "Game of Thrones," is set to have a guest appearance on "Z Nation" on the Syfy channel.

Have a sneak peek of the trailer showing Martin, who is currently working on "Winds of Winter," in zombie mode.

The trailer posted on YouTube features the literary celebrity as a zombie who just released a book titled "A Promise of Spring." The title is a nod to the seventh book of his "A Song of Ice And Fire" saga, with an expected title of "A Dream of Spring," Entertainment Weekly reported in September.

The site noted that the 67-year-old writer will portray the "Collector's" prisoner on "Z Nation." Martin is already excited about this event a month ago, the magazine reported.

"I just want to prove to my fans that even in the Zombie Apocalypse, the 'Song of Ice and Fire' books will still come out!" Martin stated.

The New Jersey-born author invited his fans, via his live journal, to watch the show on Oct. 30 for his TV moment.

"For all you Z NATION fans out there, and those who aren't (yet) too, my long-anticipated guest starring role as a rotting corpse is scheduled for the October 30 episode, 'The Collector,'" the Emmy Award winner said.

In "Game of Thrones," he was supposed to be one of the guests in Daenerys' wedding in the "original unaired version" of the HBO series' pilot, Entertainment Weekly informed.

Another TV Project

In another entry on his live journal, Martin announced that one of his literary works, "The Skin Trade," got noticed by Cinemax, a sister company of HBO. Cinemax reportedly has optioned for the TV rights of the said novella he wrote in the 1980s.

Martin shared that Cinemax ordered the script for the pilot. He is crossing his fingers that it will turn out for the best, and that a new TV series may emerge from this.

Martin's fans waiting the "Winds of Winter" should also not worry about this new project as the author stated that he would not be writing any script for "The Skin Trade" to focus on the much-awaited sixth book of "A Song of Ice and Fire."

Meanwhile, Michal Jakuszewski, the translator of the book, just confirmed on Piesnloduiognia that he was tasked to do his duties for "Winds of Winter" before the year ends. This means that everything is on schedule for its release.

With Martin having free time to appear on shows, he may have done writing the English manuscript for "Winds of Winter" already.
