Sprint is once again trying to poach customers away from their competitors by offering a monthly rate 50 percent lower than those offered by AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Sprint announced the deal on Wednesday and will start offering the new prices as soon as Friday, CNet reports. The promotion will apply to current subscribers of Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T who switch over to Sprint.

Customers switching over from the three competitors on "most plans" will see their bills cut in half, the company claims. Sprint also posted a countdown clock on their website to get customers excited about a big upcoming promotion.

Wireless companies have been battling for customers by adjusting their plan prices, offering more data and providing more perks to customers. The results have led to attractive plans for customers looking for new carriers.

Sprint is the fourth-largest wireless carrier and has seen many customers leave their plans for other providers in recent years.

This is not the first time that Sprint has offered a "half off" plan. In December, Sprint introduced the "cut your bill in half" plan, but it only applied to AT&T and Verizon customers. The latest promotion adds T-Mobile customers to that list.

"This is very different than 'cut your bill,'" Sprint's CEO Marcelo Claure said on a conference call. "This is simple and easy to communicate, and you see real savings."

Customers on T-Mobile's unlimited data plan will not be able to participate in the 50 percent savings plan, but customers on prepaid services of MetroPCS and Cricket Wireless will. Sprint will let customers try out their services for 28 days instead of 14 as well.

Sprint will create plans that match their competitors' plans in terms of data. The new plans from Sprint will give customers the same benefits and data they had with their old providers, while still cutting the price.

"Anytime you can offer the service that all Americans have, and get 50 percent off, that's a great deal," Claure said.

This promotion will continue until Jan. 7, and the savings will continue all the way through Jan. 8, 2018.
