Alfonso Cuaron has entered the fashion world.

The Academy Award-winning directed recently made a 90-second fashion film for a boutique fine jewelry brand.

According to Vogue, the auteur created the video for Loquet London after a conversation with the two co-founders of the company, his girlfriend Sheherazade Goldsmith and Laura Bailey.

"Laura and Sheherazade and I were talking over dinner about the bracelets, and I had this idea for a song -- Steve Reich's clapping music immediately came to mind -- and I saw their eyes light up, and they sort of went off together and came back and said, 'Right, well, you're the only one who can do this," Cuaron explained regarding how the idea came about.

The video starts off with small frames of clapping hands, with other frames slowly cropping up within the overall larger image. Eventually the entire frame is filled up with a plethora of smaller images, all of the clapping hands (and a guitar) coming together to create a piece of music. The cutting if frantic and the images constantly shift around, leading the viewer to look quickly from one shot to another. The number of images ultimately creates a potent musical effect.

"It was a bit of a Rubik's Cube," the director added regarding the overall finished video. "If you pay attention to all of the different frames, it's quite easy to get lost."

Cuaron was the first Latin American filmmaker to win the Academy Award for Best Director. He picked up the award for his work on his most recent film "Gravity." Cuaron is celebrated for such films as "Y Tu Mama Tambien," "Children of Men" and the third installment in the "Harry Potter" franchise "The Prisoner of Azkaban."

Loquet is a jewelry brand that focuses on the affordable luxury market in the U.K. and Europe.
