Kyocera has created the Digno Rafre smartphone, regarded as the first soap-proof phone in the world.

Japan has had waterproof phones for years, but until now, there had not been a phone that can be scrubbed clean to get rid of germs, The Verge reports.

The Rafre can be exposed to almost any type of environment because, no matter how dirty the phone gets, it is easily cleaned with hand soap.

Kyocera says the Rafre is designed to be used outside, in the kitchen around food, and even in the bath. The phone has a 1seg TV tuner built in and comes with a duck-shaped stand to prop it up.

The screen on the Rafre is said to work even when it is wet. The finish on the smartphone will also be "scratch-healing," a feature designed to keep the phone looking like new even after it has been exposed to a harsh environment.

The Rafre maintains its durability with the use of the Kyocera Smart Sonic Receiver, which transmits audio through bone-conducting technology rather than a speaker.

Kyocera has created a funny commercial for the Digno Rafre. In the clip, a family is sitting down to dinner. The father is excited for the meal, which is presented beautifully on his son's plate. As the father starts to take a picture of the entree, the child snatches the phone from him. The child gets really close to the plate with the phone, before plopping it right on top of the sauce, getting the phone all sloppy.

The father and the son are concerned that the phone is ruined, but the mother tells them not to worry. She calmly goes to the sink, applies hand soap directly to the phone and scrubs the phone before rinsing it off with water.

After drying the phone, it appears as good as new, and of course, it still works. At the end of the video, the son is in the bath tub with the phone propped up on its duck shaped stand.

The Digno Rafre will run Android 5.1, and it will have a 5-inch screen, though only at 720p resolution. The phone will also come with a 13-megapixel camera and a 3,000 mAh battery.

The Kyocera Digno Rafre will go on sale next week in Japan for about $465.
