Ridley Scott's original "Alien" film has changed from being an eerily atmospheric movie set in outer space, to a full-blown horrific gore film, during the infamous dinner scene in which John Hurt's character Kane suffers a very gruesome death by a Chest-burster. Nearly forty years later and the subsequent "Alien" film property that was birthed by Scott's 1979 classic is still one of the rare big-budget, consistently R-Rated franchises that are currently active in modern Hollywood.

According to Screen Rant, Scott has made it very clear for some time that "Alien: Covenant" is upholding that tradition, teasing a pretty hard mixture of sci-fi and gore-y horror in the film. During Screen Rant's visit to the set of "Alien: Covenant," Neil Corbould, the film's special visual effects supervisor, further confirmed that Covenant won't be lacking on the gore factor and will be the most gore-y and gruesome "Alien" film to date.

When asked if whether "Alien: Covenant" is going to be the goriest Alien movie yet, Corbould affirmatively responded, saying that he would probably say that it is definitely going to be the goriest Alien movie. While Corbould admitted said that he wouldn't exactly call the gore factor in Covenant as 'original' in nature, he also made clear that the additional gore will serve to make the film as unsettlingly disturbing as the original "Alien" was for audiences, way back in 1979.

According to IGN, the "Alien: Covenant" red band trailer will offer a taste of the gruesomeness that awaits potential moviegoers in the actual film; including, the death of one of the Covenant's crew members by means of a back-bursting newborn Neomorph, as well as the death of another crew member during what starts out being a cozy, romantic shower with their partner.

"Alien: Covenant" will be hitting the big screen on May 18, 2017. Trailers are already available online for the much-anticipated film.
