The Latin singer will be back with a fresh new album and is rumored to be working with no other than 'bad girl Riri.'

According to Billboard, Shakira is finally getting ready a new album slated for an early 2014 release. The Latin singer has recently signed a contract with Sony Music Entertainment and has begun working on the upcoming studio album's first single.

The superstar took on to her Twitter account to update fans and fellow musicians alike posting:

I Just finished the video for my first single with director Joseph Kahn! Shak @shakira

Shakira tweeted about the album December 8 - without mentioning the first single's title nor the album name. Joseph Kahn, however, is a big name in the music scene having been able to work with numerous music artists. The director is responsible for Mariah Carey and Miguel's 'Beautiful' as well as 'Love the Way You Lie' by Eminem and Rihanna.

Though still unconfirmed, rumors are also flying about that the Colombian songstress is collaborating with Rihanna for her upcoming album.

The upcoming album is the singer's comeback album after a 3-year hiatus. Her previous album entitled "Sala el Sol" was released 2010.

The singer has since been quite busy with family life, revealing her then secret relationship with football star Gerard Pique. The two have a son named Milan.

The 36-year old singer did not make her self completely scarce during that period. She has appeared in 'The Voice' USA as mentor.

She will be back as a mentor once again this season, when the show returns Spring of 2014 on NBC, says Singersroom.

Shakira has sold over 60 million albums across the globe. The songstress has also won Grammys and several music awards - making everyone excited with what's to come with her new unnamed album slated for release early 2014.
