Adele has been banned by her management from sending out her own tweets, due to her tendency to use the social media platform while drunk.

The 27-year-old British singer's Twitter account is now under the control of two people hired by her management, who will read every message before "signing off" on posts, according to The Telegraph.

Adele said the rule was put into effect after she found herself in some hot water. The singer posted several tweets while she was inebriated. However, she still insisted she would write her own tweets.

"I mean I'm not a drinker any more, but when Twitter first came out I was, like, drunk tweeting, and nearly put my foot in it quite a few times," Adele said. "So my management decided that you have to go through two people and then it has to be signed off by someone, but they're all my tweets. No one writes my tweets. They just post them for me. So, yeah, that's very, very true."

During the singer's recent appearance on "Adele at the BBC," hosted by Graham Norton, an audience member asked her about the limited access to her Twitter account.

So far in 2015, Adele has posted about a dozen tweets, which have reached her nearly 24 million Twitter followers. This record makes it seem as if this new policy might be hindering her from using social media.

The singer recently released the lead single "Hello," along with the song's music video, from her upcoming third album. The track has topped the iTunes chart in 102 countries.

Adele will release "25" on Friday, Nov. 20. This same day "Adele at the BBC" will be aired on BBC One at 3:30 p.m ET.
