Fans took to social media on Wednesday to honor legendary singer Jenni Rivera on the three year anniversary of her death.

Several fans honored the star, who died in a plane crash in 2012, on Instagram and Twitter. The most notable tribute came from her daughter Chiquis Rivera, who has since followed in her mother's footsteps and has a music career of her own.

The 32-year-old daughter of the iconic singer shared an emotional message on social media dedicated to her mother.

"What I would give for one of her hugs. Just for 5 seconds. Just 5!!!! I need one so bad. Three years ago today, at around this time, my whole world came crumbling down on me.... Again. For the world she's @jennirivera, but to my heart she's my greatest friend, my rock, my reason, the love of my life, the person I will forever miss," she captioned the post. "I never thought pain could be so deep it hurts in the bones. You'd think after three years it would get better, but all that really happens is that reality sets in.... The reality of the rest of my life."

Chiquis Rivera also thanked the fans for continuing to support her mother's legacy, which the Rivera family keeps alive through memoirs, concerts, shoe collections and an upcoming museum.

The singer wasn't the only member of the Rivera clan to share a tribute. Rosie Rivera, the sister of "La Diva de la Banda," also posted a special tribute to the star on her Instagram account.

Rosie Rivera posted video collages of photos of her and her famous sister, sharing embraces and at family occasions.

Several fans expressed their love for the star on various social media outlets using hashtags like #JenniVive and #LaDivadelaBanda.

People en Español shared a photo, originally posted by the magazine's executive editor Maria A. Morales. The post featured the singer's appearances on the magazine's cover over the years.

Some fans of the Latin superstar shared edited images from a variety of photoshoots and events.

Others honored the star by tweeting lyrics to her songs, listening to her music, remembering the day they learned of her death and sharing how she inspired them.
