The LG G4's successor could arrive early next year, as rumors point to a February 2016 release date for the LG G5.

Moreover, as reported on Phone Arena, rumor mills on LG G5 churned out new possible details for the upcoming smartphone, focusing mainly on the smartphone's specs. Accordingly, the latest news circulating about the phone's specs came from a Weibo poster noting LG G5's details from a tipster known as Zealer.

Zealer claimed that the LG G5 specs will include a 5.6-inch screen display boasting of a 1440 x 2560 pixels screen resolution. Furthermore, its primary camera will be 21MP, while the selfie shooter will be 8MP.

Under the hood, LG G5 might be packed with Snapdragon 820 SoC chipset with a quad-core CPU and Adreno 530 for GPU, if Zealer's claims are to be believed. Earlier speculations, as noted on a separate report from Phone Arena, suggested that the LG G5 will most possibly employ an iris scanning security technology, as LG is currently partnering with Irience, a biometrics company from Korea.

With a February 2016 release date timeframe, experts are noting the increased chance that it will be unveiled at Mobile World Congress taking place at the same month next year. If this pushes through, it may coincide with the launch of Samsung's upcoming flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S7, which could also be launched in February.
