Motorola has created a winning smartphone with the Moto X. The good news for fans of the valuable handset is another generation is incoming. A photo of the 2016 version of the best-selling Moto X was recently leaked, giving the market a preview of some significant features that's in store for those who are planning to pick up a unit.

According to a report from GSM Arena, the leaked photo was spotted on website CN Beta. The fourth generation Moto X was shown to be wrapped in a sleek metal unibody, with a revamped camera housing that's covered with glass. The speakers are also seen at the bottom of the device's back, but it's not clear if it's stereo or not.

A report from Chicago Inno listed more of the devices in store from Motorola in 2016, which will expand the smartphone collection of the company that's now under Lenovo. Now that the handset division of Lenovo has been combined in Motorola -- who's now tasked with designing, developing and manufacturing all smartphones of the company -- it is set to come up with more ambitious devices.

The budget device Moto G 4 might not be the most innovative device in the lineup, but with a $200 price tag, it is poised to be a favorite among consumers looking to save some bucks. It's consistently one of the company's best-sellers. While not much details have been revealed about the low-cost smartphone, it's expected to drop in July 2016.

The smartwatch Moto 360 3 is set to make a stand once again after a tough year up against the Apple Watch that dominated the market. Like its predecessors, the new Moto 360 will likely be released in September or October 2016.

Lenovo smartphone will also continue to be force to reckon with under Motorola's supervision, beginning with the upcoming Lemon X. A report from Uber Gizmo showed off a leaked render of the first Motorola-designed smartphone for Lenovo, which the report described as an obvious Motorola product with "rounded corners, the positioning of the camera is reminiscent of Motorola's designs."

According to a report from 9 to 5 Google, Lenovo has released a statement about combining the smartphone business under Motorola saying, "Restructuring the Mobile Business Group (MBG) to align smartphone development, production and manufacturing and better leverage the complementary strengths of Lenovo and Motorola."

"There will be a more-simple, streamlined product portfolio, with fewer, more clearly-differentiated models," the official statement continued. "A faster, leaner business model will better leverage Lenovo's global sales force and accelerate the efficiency actions already underway in its global supply chain."
