The 2015 NFL regular season is officially over. Your team didn't make the playoffs? Sorry to hear that. Don't worry, a lot of fans have teams that didn't make the playoffs. On top of not even qualifying for the postseason, some teams failed to reach expectations. We can make a small exception for a few squads who had huge injuries (Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts), but others have no excuses for their pathetic display this year.

Here are the five most disappointing teams this season.

5. New York Giants

Where does one even begin? The Giants defense is atrocious ranking last in yards allowed and last in passing yards allowed as well. Tom Coughlin's future is a mystery with Big Blue. Other than passing for big yardage, the Giants didn't do anything consistently this season. This year was highlighted with fourth quarter blown leads, terrible defensive plays, and losing streaks. After Week 9 the Giants were 5-4, in first place in the division. They finished the season on a terrible note losing six of their last seven games, and have now missed the playoffs four consecutive years. The Giants have so much work to do on the defensive side of the football this offseason.

4. Atlanta Falcons

After seven weeks of play, this team really looked legit. The Atlanta Falcons were flying high, and they were actually giving the Carolina Panthers a run for their money in the NFC South. Then, reality set it in. Matt Ryan started to throw numerous interceptions in the end zone, and it cost the Falcons big time. Opposing teams caught on to the "Ryan throwing to Julio Jones every play" offense. After starting the year off with a promising 6-1 record, they finished the year 2-7 in their last nine games.. Devonta Freeman had a breakout year, but it wasn't enough to save the Falcons season as they birds finished the year a disappointing 8-8.

3. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are simply an example of offseason destruction. They let Jeremy Maclin walk, overpaid for DeMarco Murray, traded away LeSean McCoy for Kiko Alonso, and then gave up a second round draft pick for Sam Bradford. They even cut Evan Mathis. What could possibly go wrong? The Eagles defense ranked 30th overall and dead last against the run. Byron Maxwell doesn't resemble anything from his "Legion of Boom" days with the Seattle Seahawks. What made this season so disappointing was the fact that the NFC East was so terrible and up for grabs all year long. The Eagles finished the year 7-9 and Chip Kelly is a free agent.

2. Buffalo Bills

This was finally going to be the year. The Bills were finally going to snap the 1999 playoff drought, which is the longest active postseason drought in the league. Not happening. The Bills defense, with Rex Ryan, completely fell apart. They went from having one of the best defensive units in the NFL to a below average squad. Last year the Bills had the highest sack total in the NFL with 54, but this year they ranked a dreadful 31st in sacks with just 21. Now there are talks that the Bills will release Mario Williams this offseason. With the New York Jets improving, things won't get easier in the AFC East for the Bills going forward.

1. St. Louis Rams

This is an easy one. No more excuses for the St. Louis Rams or Jeff Fisher. The Rams have so much talent and so many draft picks, but they never actually take advantage of all of it. This team has so much potential, and you can see it by some of their wins. The Rams swept the Seahawks this season, and even beat the Arizona Cardinals. On the other hand, they couldn't even beat the Chicago Bears or Baltimore Ravens. Jeff Fisher hasn't made a single playoff appearance since 2008, with the Tennessee Titans. As a matter of fact, Fisher hasn't even posted a winning record since 2008. It's time for the Rams to move on and change their coaching staff. Oh, by the way, Rams fans may be watching their team move back to Los Angeles pretty soon.
