Fitbit has finally built a stylish version of its fitness trackers. The Fitbit Blaze will look just like a smartwatch, but it will still lack most of the smart features found in smartwatches. Instead, it will primarily function as a fitness tracker, Tech Radar reports.

Customize Me, Captain

The Fitbit Blaze sits inside a stainless steel frame and is surrounded by an elastomer band. Consumers can choose to customize the Fitbit Blaze by switching to another colored band in either black, blue or plum for $29.95. A leather band is another choice for $99.95. For the full stainless look, a stainless steel band can be purchased for $129.95 to match the tracker's frame. To customize the Fitbit Blaze, the tracker can be popped out of its frame and into a new frame on a new band.

The display on the Fitbit Blaze is a nice and vibrant color LCD touchscreen surrounded by thin bezels on the side. Buttons on the side can perform the same functions as screen taps.

Fit's Featured Bits

The Fitbit Blaze can track steps, workouts, heart rate and altitude. The tracker has a built-in light sensor that can help the Blaze dim itself when high brightness is not needed. There is a vibration motor that will alert the user of incoming notifications.

The Fitbit Blaze will not offer apps and extra features like the Apple Watch, but it will offer smartphone notifications. When calls or texts are coming in from the users' nearby smartphone connected by Bluetooth, the Blaze will vibrate for the user.

The Fitbit Blaze connects easily to the user's computer at home in order to sync all workouts. The best news about the Fitbit Blaze is the battery should last up to five days, Fitbit says. When it needs to be charged, it only takes an hour or two for a full charge.

Water Puts Out the Blaze

Although the Fitbit Blaze is not completely waterproof, it can withstand a little exposure to water. A user's sweat or rain drops will not damage the device, but showering or swimming probably will. Fitbit says to avoid showering and swimming with the Blaze on.

The price of the Fitbit Blaze starts at $199, but that is without any customization. Buying new colors, a leather band or the stainless steel band can easily hike up the price.
