"The Voice" contestant Stephanie Rice gave a thrilling performance of Kelly Clarkson's "Piece By Piece" on Monday. The aspirant also revealed her grief-stricken personal story of how her parents' disowned her after she unveiled her sexual orientation.

Stephanie not only dropped the judges' jaws at the blind audition of the "The Voice" Season 12 premiere on Monday night, but her rendition got the "American Idol" winner totally poignant. Blake Shelton maintained that the Houston-based performed the song as if it was written and composed by her. Stephanie continued by saying that the song holds a special message for her and depicts her struggles she went through after she made her sexual orientation public at the age of 18.

According to People, the 27-year old belongs to a conservative family. Her religious upbringing allowed her parents to repudiate her when she came out as gay.

"My father is a pastor, and they disowned me," Rice said, reports Just Jared. Stephanie sobbed that she has been transferring her depression and blues through the art of music.

Kelly, the recognized, American prodigy took it to her Twitter account and reacted to the influential performance staged by Stephanie. "Can't. Stop. Crying," the singer wrote. "Her vulnerability and her story ....just wow. Steph, I hope ur parents open their hearts 2 the beautiful person u r!"

Kelly pulled off a shock when she responded to Stephanie's wretched testimony. The rising singer couldn't even believe it and also shared a message regarding her heart-wrenching performance by saying "If this is a dream, don't wake me up."

Gwen Stefani also commended the singer. She emphasized that Stephanie is a great artist and storyteller, delivering a powerful performance.

Stephanie rendered a never-ending deal of buzz and enthusiasm and garnered the support of "The Voice" judges. She preferred Gwen's team over Blake's. Alicia Keys was also present during the performance and listened to Stephanie's voice passionately.
