Miguel Cotto declared that he is ready to go full route in his upcoming WBC middleweight title showdown against Sergio Martinez on June 7 at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Cotto said in a recent interview that Martinez should be ready for 12 rounds of war because he has prepared harder than ever in hopes of becoming a world champion again.

"I am prepared me for twelve rounds of war, for twelve tough rounds," Cotto said via BoxingScene. "If he thinks he only needs to prepare for seven, then I will make the last five very difficult for him. I've been working and following the very strong strategy of Freddie Roach."

Cotto, who is coming off a knockout win against Delvin Rodriguez in October last year, is looking to make history by becoming the first fighter from Puerto Rico to win world titles in four different divisions.

"Getting that fourth world championship in a different division would be a great achievement for my career, but at no time would it make me think that I'm better than the other great fighters from Puerto Rico, but I would like to be the first to accomplish something that never has been achieved and that would be for all Puerto Rico," Cotto said.

His Hall of Fame trainer, Roach, also recently expressed confidence about their chances in their upcoming fight, saying that Cotto will knock Martinez out in four rounds.

But when asked about Roach's prediction, Sampson Lewkowicz, Martinez's adviser, said that they are not bothered at all, and even gave his own prediction: Martinez by knockout in the later rounds.

"He said Pacquiao would knock Rios out last year that Bradley would get knocked out in April. I can give you a book of predictions from Freddie Roach that never came true," Lewkowicz said. "There is only one conclusion in this fight: Martinez will get a knockout in the second half."

Martinez, who will be defending his title for the second time, is coming off a long layoff due to a major knee injury he sustained before his title defense against Martin Murray in April last year.
