The Boston Celtics is currently sitting half a game ahead of the defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers in the tight race for the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed, but despite all the tension, all-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas is ready to treat Wednesday's showdown between his Celtics team and the Cavs as just another day on the schedule.

"It's just another game on the schedule for us," Thomas said Tuesday, as per ESPN. Thomas says that being no. 1 in the standings will not feel different and that they will play their next game against the Cavs just like any other game that they've played this season.

Though Thomas may be treating it like just any other game, the contest between the Celtics and the Cavs at TD Garden tomorrow is going to be a crucial turning point. The result of the game would ultimately give any team the golden opportunity to seize the no. 1 seed and secure home-court advantage in what would be a potential Eastern Conference Finals matchup.

However, any advantage that the Celtics can get is going to be critical, considering that LeBron James has already been to the last six NBA Finals as a member of both the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat. Aside from being calm and composed, Isaiah Thomas also made it clear that he doesn't care whether Cleveland will rest LeBron James or other key players in Wednesday's game.

"At this point, it doesn't matter who plays," Thomas said. "If they don't play, that will be good. If they do, we'll be there, ready to play them. I'm fine with either way they go."

According to NESN, Thomas has also addressed the current situation of resting players late in the season, saying that the league can control that decision to secure key players and make them ready for either next season or for the postseason. The Cavaliers are currently 2-1 against Boston this season, with the chance of clinching a critical tiebreaker with yet another victory Wednesday.
