You're stuck inside your home, bored out of your wits, while you're waiting for the coronavirus pandemic to settle down outside. The recent lockdown measures may be damaging your mental health as cabin fever slowly sets in.

Fear not because according to the World Health Organization, video games are a healthy form of social pastime during our ongoing homebound existence.

Besides serving as a great distraction, video games also provide a great way for people to communicate with friends and family at home. Many games played on computers or consoles offer multi-player settings you and your friends can play.

Just because you're locked in doesn't mean you can't have fun at home. Without further ado, here are some of the best video games you should totally be playing during self-isolation.

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield

If you're feeling a little adventurous, then this game can over that and more. Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield serve the 8th generation of pokemon in Nintendo's best-selling franchise.

The base games offer up 400 pokemon, including a new form called Galarian.

The gym battles also saw a massive improvement from the previous titles as you battle it out against the gym leader in a stadium full of audience. Guess that adds more pressure, eh?

The new titles also included a riding system where players can ride their bikes across the water, including everybody's favorite glutton Snorlax. Pokemon Sword and Shield have some of the cutest, most adorable critters in the long-running series.

Dreams


Dreams is an award-winning, PS4 exclusive game that provides players with the power to create their own playable games from scratch.

The extraordinary game comes from the brains behind LittleBigPlanet and Tearaway and features an ever-expanding universe where creators can play and take cues from other creators to create hundreds of thousands of games.

Artistic minds will also rejoice as Dreams let you create your own digital artwork and music from zero.

Many creators have already hopped in the game and made detailed copies of famous titles such as Crash Bandicoot, Dexter's Laboratory, and even Fallout 4---and honestly, we're sold.

Dreams was officially released on February 14, 2020, and is expected to be available on Playstation 5 releasing during the holidays this year.

Visage

Visage is an independent survival horror game that has received many great reviews since its release. It reminds players of the hit Konami game Silent Hills which was canceled in 2015.

If you're someone who's gotten used to playing horror game titles, this one might just fit the bill. Players say the game has their hearts racing within the first 45 minutes of playing. The game is largely unpredictable, offering gamers a unique experience that truly sets it apart from other horror titles.

Visage was designed to keep players on their toes while scavenging for items and looking out for enemies. There are also puzzles that need solving... all while trying to keep your character from going absolutely bonkers.

The game is currently on Early Access, though it is already showing a lot of promise. Visage is available for purchase and download on Steam, Playstaytion Store, and Xbox One.

Persona 5

Persona 5 is one of the best RPG game titles currently in the market. The game, which was released worldwide in April 2017, has is expected to publish an expanded version featuring new content, Persona 5 Royal on March 31st.

Persona 5 is set in modern-day Japan and follows a group of vigilante teenagers who lead double-lives---one as a normal student, and the other as vanquishers of metaphysical entities.

This Playstation exclusive was praised for its incredible visuals, as well as its cast and gameplay. It is also considered one of the best role-playing games of all time.

Persona 5 is available on Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.
