"Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" which will be released on November 13 on next generation consoles will have an intriguing character in former U.S. President Ronald Reagan.

The game releasing in November and the U.S. elections also happening in November may be purely coincidental.

That and Reagan plus throw in a storyline coming from the Cold War era between U.S. and the Soviet Union back in the 80s, the game is sure to stir some political controversy, as reported by The Washington Post.

However, much like the soldier characters in the game wherein it is the mission that matter and not politics, gamers will also not be bothered with whatever political controversy that may arise with the title.

Especially that Reagan will be appearing alongside iconic characters, Alex Woods, Jason Hudson and Frank Mason, who are all revived in this game.

In this direct sequel to "Call of Duty: Black Ops," the player will be tasked to hunt down a spy from the Soviet known as Perseus.

The mission will be green-lighted by President Reagan.

Real-life Historical Figures

Aside from President Reagan, Perseus is another real historical figure in the game.

Or, at least he is based on a real Soviet spy with the same codename. Perseus was believed to have infiltrated the U.S. government.

Aside from encountering real-life historical figures, players will also be up for hard truths as they get to battle in iconic places such as Vietnam, East Berlin, Moscow in the Soviet-era, Turkey, and many other locales.

Players will get a glimpse of the single-player campaign gameplay via the recently released cinematic trailer of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Making the title more exciting is its promise of various multiplayer combat changes for which a reveal will be happening on September 9 as reported by Forbes.

And, there is also the zombies which game developers Treyarch and Raven have promised to bring back with an all-new experience.

However, nothing much have been revealed of the zombies mode but Activision and game developers did promise that they would release more information about the zombies as the release date nears.

Cross-play Across Platforms and Generations

A boon for gamers is that the game's featured cross-play will not just be across platforms which was introduced last year, but across generations as well.

This means that Xbox One and PS5 players will be able to play with each other as well as Xbox Series X and PS4 players.

And, a seasonal battle pass will, of course, be available.

The title will have something unique as it will allow players to share their progression with "Warzone." And, they will also be able to bring their "Modern Warfare" content when they transition into the new game.

Aside from being released on PlayStation 4, PC on Battle.net and Xbox One on November 13, Activision will also be releasing Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X during the Holiday 2020, as reported by The Verge.
